Paul Y. was delighted to host a visit by HKCA Young Members Society (HKCA YMS) to Yuen Long Effluent Polishing Plant (YLEPP) Stage 1 Main Works, our joint venture project with CREC.

HKCA YMS student members were given an in-depth tour of the project site by members of the project management team (PMT). PMT explained the challenges faced on the project, especially the need to maintain the existing sewage treatment works during the in-situ reconstruction of the plant.

Upon completion the water treatment capacity of the existing plant will increase from 70,000m³ to 100,000m³ per day upgrading its sewage treatment standard from a secondary to a tertiary level. The upgraded plant adopts the most advanced sewage treatment technologies and features green design and community facilities. This landmark infrastructure project will benefit the local community and promote sustainability.
