This project mainly supplements the Hong Kong Offshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal project by the provision of civil works for pipe approach onshore section, pipe pulling, all related reinstatement work and its civil work for the extension of Gas Receiving Station at Black Point Power Station.

The project supports HKSAR Government’s objective to improve air quality and to achieve a fuel mix target of around 50% natural gas-fired power generation by 2020. It also secures Competitive Gas Supply Options to maintain a cost-effective, diverse, reliable and adequate supply of fuel for CLP and HK Electric, and ensuring electricity reliability due to increase of gas supply for future electricity demand.
